Carrie Hull is an artist living and working in Vancouver Canada. She paints mostly with oils and sometimes acrylics and watercolour. She is also currently creating some small oil paintings mounted on reclaimed wood and metal stands, incorporating metal foils.
"As a child in England I always loved to draw and paint. I was obsessed with bright colours. When I arrived in Vancouver, Canada in 1991 I began making sculptural and practical papier mâché pieces which were painted in bright colours and patterns inspired by my surroundings. I then pursued a career in set decorating in film and television and had a family. The urge to create in one way or another has always been present and I always seem to be designing, building or making something. I began to paint in oils in 2014 and felt at home. My work is quite varied in theme but I especially love to paint interiors. My background in set decorating and my passion with interior design fuels this aspect of my work."
